Rainbow moments!

Part 2: Cake cutting @ Apartment

I shrieked when I saw what was in the bag of pressies. They gave me 'medications' organised in a Webster pack (medication administration aid). What a wonderful and CREATIVE gift!!

Zoe counselled on its indication, how to use and associated side effects. She also made sure that I had a Consumer Medicine Information to take home to read.

  • I thought they just printed out some random product information. But when I read the leaflet thoroughly at home, I broke out into laughing fit moments! I even highlighted important points pertaining to the 'medicines' and made side notes on it!! Hahaha...

I don't know how they replicate the exact same format as like other CMI. You guys are incredible! I totally love this idea.

    Packed by ZoJo Pharmacy

Hm...I love my 'medicines' , really! They are all sweet and yummy ^_^

Sounds good, so I would have 1/2 Macadamia mane and nocte, 1 Rasberry chocolate during lunch and 1 Raisin chocolate before bed. Thank you pharmacists for packing this! It is now easier to take my tablets without being non-compliant. I pretty convinced that my symptoms will improve over time!

3 weeks supply of 'medicines'!

Taken my night dose chocolate already!

LOVE LOVE LOVE this sparkly pearly bracelet!!!

This is going up on my wall ^_^ Beautiful work of art!

New Pillow to sleep with! - no name yet! Any suggestions?

Thank you Piggies Jo, Zoe, Ann, Lionel, Ronald! Also to Tee Han, TJ, Poh and Yvonne-thank you for coming together to celebrate. This really made my day and it meant a lot to me. I really appreciate all your efforts! Of course, not forgetting the organizers!! Special thanks for planning this so successfully-from paying deposit to book the venue to getting people to gather on time. I truly enjoyed myself and this is one of the best birthday celebrations that I've ever had! THANK YOU! You guys are amazing ^_^

XOXO,

Rainbow moments!

PART 1: Birthday dinner @ Belgian Beer cafe Oostende

I thought dinner was just among the four piggies. So, I was pleasantly surprised to know that we will be having other friends over! Woohoo ^_^

Will let the pictures do the talking this time!

Poh Yen ordering her beer =) She's a pro drinker!

Lucious peach flavoured beer! Much much palatable- at least I won't just have to hold it without drinking!

It took a little while for food to be served, so we wasted no time by snapping PICTURES away!

Beautiful girlfriends!

Supportive guys!

DINNER TIME!

We ordered a total of 3 kg of mussels!!

MUSSELS

1)Les Moules Provencale (1kg)

steamed in tomato sauce, garlic, olives & basil leaves

2) Les Moules Mariniere (1kg)

steamed in fish stock, fresh tomato, chilli & parsley

3) Les Moules Paddestoel (1kg)

steamed with mushroom, bacon, spring onion & cream

This was the winning pot of mussels! It was very flavourful and undenyingly delicious!

Fresh, juicy mussels with delectable broth

4) Roast duck shanks

with sweet potato puree, asparagus

Loved the chargrilled asparagus!

Candid shots of people devouring food! Me and my indelicate way of eating mussels, Lionel sucking the juice out of the lamb bone, Ronald with no plate (haha), Annie eating mussels with fork and spoon. Eh? How you do that?

5) Swiss brown & ratatouille
feta filled mushrooms, eggplant, zucchini, pumpkin, capsicum

Colourful dish making it visually appealing and it tasted good!

And THIS was our FAVOURITE dish of the night!

Lamb Rump

Char-grilled lamb, roasted potatoes, lemon olive oil

The meat was succulent! Absolutely scrumptious!

Lionel had the honour of cutting and serving ^_^

The lamb meat was so soft and tender, it fell off the bones.

More pictures!

The dinner was purely SUPERB! Thank you guys ^_^

Quick update!

So, it was my first day of placement at another hospital--> Saw many blooming flowers-but the bright pink was my favourite of all! --> Ironically, the therapeutic brefing topic was about treatments for menopause symptoms *>.< ---> Dearest uncle called and put $$ into bank---> went to buy chocolate moist cake ~YUM! ---> Spent time thinking about menopause at night. Gosh... it freaked me out! ---> Oink Oink sleeping time

PS: Bought a new laptop today after much contemplation!! Am super excited and happy! ^_^

Love the colour combination - ODD yet it stands out so beautifully! I saw this pretty flower outside the building where I went for my interview. I don't know the name of it (let me know if you do!), so for the mean time I shall name it 'Scaffidi's flower'

Got loads photos to post up, but I can't. *Sigh* My computer is playing up against me since yesterday (actually there are problems all the while). But this time is serious. I can't do my work properly and around now and the coming weeks are my critical phase of work. Contemplating to get a new one, but will see if this problem can be repaired or not *Sigh* If only I am a tech whiz.

Thank you JO for the wonderful post! *wink*

Aged Care facility-Day 2

After my first visit to Domus Operosa, I can't wait to go there again for the second time (also my last visit, sadly)!

The main goal of the second visit was to present my findings of the DUE that I had conducted last week. My target audiences were the enrolled nurses. The presentation was held in the dining area, facing the magnificient scenery view that I was so captivated with! I couldn't resist taking out my camera to snap away (luckily my supervisor was very understanding, this is afterall a placement and I'm not acting all that professional! Eek!).

It was a gloomy day with light showers-thus, the colours do not stand out as brilliantly as my first visit's snapshots. Nevertheless, I thought it still looked magnificient.

Remember I mentioned about the lovely lady whom I interviewed and showed me a video? When I visited her today, I asked if I could take a picture of her. She stood up from her armchair slowly, walked towards me and before I could ask her where we should stand, she pulled me gently and gave me a BIG WARM HUG! For a moment, it seemed like time stood still. And images of my grandmother inundated my mind... I miss her so much. It had been almost 7 years since she left.

I'll always remember this lovely lady of her thoughtful gestures as well(she sayang me on my back the first time I saw her and when I said goodbye today ^_^) Probably I reminded her of her granddaughter- although I'm asian haha...

I've put together some snapshots of my supervisor and those whom I interviewed. It is my intention to scale down the picture so to keep their confidentiality. At the same time, I want it to serve as a remembrance to me.

Pictures taken from the other side of the house.

It was a cloudy day!

I've REALLY enjoyed this visit a lot. It was such an eye-opening experience! The pharmacist whom I tagged along was terrific. She was extremely humble and generous with her knowledge- spoke about her experiences, gave useful tips, encouraged me to talk to doctors (I could not have done this without her helping me >.< ) and at the end of the day, I realize how fortunate I am to be in this position: to be able to learn from an experienced teacher.

>.< Dislike ----> Like ^_^

I've never liked Weet-Bix. I know it has got all the good nutrients, good source of fibre etc. It is highly nutritious, no doubt about it! When my aunt brought some back for my family, I tried them-but I find it hard to accept. I guess it is because when you dunk it in Milo/water, it turns all mushy unless you eat them fast enough.

That's why I like muesli instead! Because the rolled oats are hard, it takes time for it to absorb liquid to make it semi-soft, the way I like it to be! And because muesli contains dried fruits and nuts as well, I find breakfast more appetizing!

And now, I'm happy to annouce that I LOVE Weet-Bix! It is my current favourite snack item aside from Uncle Toby's Yoghurt Muesli Bar. And that's because I found out that the company produces Weet-Bix Bite! What appealed to me was not only was it in bite-sized, it contained dried fruits in it as well! So that means, I can eat it on its own and it tastes great! I've only tried the Wild Berry flavour (so luscious!) some time ago. Considering that they are on sale now, I went out to buy two boxes (Wild Berry again and Honey flavour)! <3
Looks as if I'm promoting Weet-Bix ^_^ No, I'm not paid to do this. Just want to share some good products I discover!

Loving this song ^_^

When this song was played on Mix FM (yea, I still touch base with my all-time favourite music station), I thought WOW, this is awesome! Yep, it's about time we've a rocking pop song about Malaysia, my beloved country. The fact that DJ Uno weaved bahasa melayu, english, mandarin (I believe there's tamil.. but I'm not sure. Let me know, readers!) languages into one song is simply amazing. Aptly reflect Malaysia's multicultural society. What really captivated me was how the song was introduced and ended. So Malaysian!!

If you haven't heard already, please LISTEN to it now.. until the END. I guarantee you'll love the ending! Makes more sense if you comprehend Bahasa Melayu ^_^

Let me know what you think about this song! =)
