Relieved ~WEeee

It's been a whirlwind of busy, mind-draining activities from last week itself. And I SOo relieved now *phew*

This afternoon, I gave a mini presentation about my project in front of a bunch of senior colleagues. What's even more shocking when I arrived the room.. HE. WAS. THERE. *gasps* His presence can be intimidating because of his superiority in his field of knowledge. I think many people will agree. He taught higher level chemistry last year and he was terrific! Everybody wanted to attend his tutorials, his discussion board was always up-to-date, and his key lecture points were precise and succinct (ahem.. unlike other lecturers!) I really enjoyed his informative lectures and its very applicable too! But for him to look at me presenting, hm... was daunting >.<>

Can you believe it's Friday already? *dances* Looking forward to the weekends to do some catching up with dear friends.

On a random note-It happened today when my friend and I were doing some role-play where I entered the shop as a customer and asked for head lice treatment. She asked me a couple of questions and then.. she recommended me a product and encouraged me to use the 'conditioner and comb' method to remove the lice and eggs in between the two treatments. She showed me the nit combs (there were two colours-black and cotton pink) and I thought to myself, I think I like the cotton pink! "Yup, I'll get the pink one, more fashionable!" I said to her. She looked at me weirdly and replied "Eh, the black one is to find the eggs, which are white in colour. The light pink one is to find for the lice which are black in colour!".
Oh.. O_0

*laughs*

Got such thing one, ar? Heehee...Definitely learned something today!

Updates!

Time really FLIES... Gosh. It felt like just yesterday that I blogged about the surprise party.

I want my happy hours back >.<

In this whole week itself, I've been frantically searching and immersing myself with journal articles with what I need to write up 60 pages long thesis !!!

Great. I've only got 5 pages. How? How? *pulls hair out*

Meanwhile, entertain yourself with the joke below while I sit at a corner of my room and come up with some magic recipe to help me with my work. Wish me luck or provide me with any magician contacts, thanks. I'll appreciate that.

What a woman says:

"This place is a mess! C'mon! You and I need to clean up! Your stuff is lying on the floor snd you'll have no clothes to wear if we don't do the laundry right now!"

What a man hears:

"blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, C'MON, YOU AND I, blah blah blah blah blah blah, ON THE FLOOR, blah blah blah blah NO CLOTHES blah blah blah blah blah RIGHT NOW

Tsk tsk, men!

On a random note, whipped this up for dinner today.

Crumbed pan-fried Cod with cous cous and steamed green beans

It has been awhile since I had a good dose of Omega-3.

The fish was fresh and flaky. YUM!

No fishy smell too! =) Excellent for fussy eaters.

A PIGGY group picture!

Wishing you both many happy returns on your birthdays! !

PS: Watched MasterChef grand finale during their birthday dinner. Although Poh didn't win the title, I was still very proud of her for making this far in the competition. Top 2! Not an easy feat. What's more interesting was, Poh didn't walk away empty handed. She received a verbal invitation from Curtis Stone (Hot hot Chef!!) and and... he offered to cover for her airplane tickets to spend a week with his team for a shoot in LA.

Thousands of feet up in the sky ^.^

I like flying up... Up... UP... in the air ^-^

This is a random post again.

Within year 2008 up till now, I have boarded the aeroplane about seven times already! And at least I'm not bored at it yet. The recent flight back wasn’t for a joyful reason. But anyway, my point is, I have experienced both Singapore Airlines(SIA) and Malaysia Airlines(MAS) flights and honestly, I have to give two thumbs up to Singapore Airlines!

And my reason? The food (eh, typical piggy) that they served was absolutely scrumptious! Although I was an economy class passenger, I felt I was treated fairly well. Now, that is what I call good service.

Menu! They’ve got menu!

I wished MAS had menu for economy class passengers too. That would make us special =)

Love the range of beverages they served! Having a menu in your hands makes ordering so much more easier...and classy. Hahaha.. Eh, they’ve got Johnie Walker! *sidelong glance at Poh Yen*

Singapore Sling cocktail tasted awesome, but I felt all hot after that and my pulse raced so quickly. Felt so uncomfortable. Ugghh.. no alcohol for me. next time.

Apparently, this is the new A330 aircraft. It feels like the aeroplane had a makeover. Previously, the general cabin colour was blue-green, if I remember correctly. I love this alternate creamy brown and mahogany shades on the seats and the floor. I like the design of the new seats too! New and comfy ^.^ Oh, and more leg space too. Very important for me.

...the reading light is white which is fantastic! (I can’t read with yellow light).

Oh, check out the SCREEN!!! OMG...It is humungous compared to the previous flights. LOVE IT! LOVE IT! (I was watching Confessions of a Shopaholic)

They’ve got USB port as well! But I don’t know what to do with it. I've read somewhere in their KRIS in-flight magazine that you can also connect your iPOD or was it iPHONE in one of those ports. But oh well, I can’t experiment because I’ve got neither. Huuhuu =(

In case you are wondering, yes, the two seats across my row were empty!! I was so lucky! Better than first class seats ^-^ What’s even better- I returned to Adelaide with the exact seating-two empty seats again!…. Woohoo.

Yes. Those are my notes. Nerdy, huh?

Brown fleece blanket to snuggle up with. Perfect.

The overall brown colour combination in the cabin is incredible. It evokes feelings of the olden times with a touch of modern technology twist.

I like ^-^

That's it, peeps! Rounding up this post with a view of side wing sky scenery.

Took this on another aeroplane when I had a transit in Singapore.

Of Fingernails...Toenails...<3

Aren't those nail stickers in the second picture gorgeous? Love the cute flower design. Complements so well with the black base.

First picture-The french manicure is done on my own. No stickers whatsoever to aid in painting. Just very steady hands. *pats back* after years of practising

Just random moments of sharing with you guys, one of my random loves. I like pretty nails. Though, not that I have different nail designs every week! Co'z to me, it is difficult to maintain. Hohoho.. more like pure laziness! >.<

Well, if you ask which part of me I like most, I would say that it would be my long nails. I love my NAILS...They grow so fast! Which also means I need to trim them quite often. Boo. Especially my toenails. It hurts when closed shoes are worn.

Anyway,...

I believe that all of us like certain parts of our bodies. So, this is a question for you girls- Which part of you do you adore? Your Eyebrows?..Nose?...Skin?...Bosoms?..Voluptuous curves?...Eyes?..Legs?

Don't give me nonsense by saying you hate everything about yourself. At the same time, if you are too shy-remain anonymous. I'll just guess who you are and I will probably ask you in private if that was you, ok? This is something that I've never asked any of my girlfriends or boyfriends before. So tell me, I'll like to hear what you say ^.^ Perhaps a chance to get to know more about you besides your inner beauty.

If you have it, why not flaunt it ? *winks*

Joke of the Day #6

A dose of laughter for you guys!

The teenage boy seemed placid as I approached his hospital bed to give him a psychiatric evaluation. His mother sat nearby, immersed in her knitting. When I introduced myself to the boy, he looked right through me and started screaming,"I can't see! I can't see!"

I had never before witnesed such a dramatic example of hysterical blindness.

"How long has this been going on?" I asked his mother.

She replied, "Ever since you stepped in front of his TV set"

.

.

.

And because I'm feeling extra bubbly today, I am injecting you another good dose of laughter!

.

.

.

While attending a marriage seminar on communication, Aaron and his wife, Alicia, listened to the instructor declare, "It is essential that husbands and wives know the things that are important to each other"

He addressed the men, "Can you describe your wife's favourite flower?"

Aaron leaned over, touched Alicia's arm gently and whispered,"Edmonds Self Raising Flour, isn't it?"

And thus, began Aaron's life of loneliness.

Winter----> Steamboat!

Just last Sunday, we threw a small Piggy gathering session – we had STEAMBOAT!! Yum! All of us liked the tom yum soup more than the chicken broth. I had an awesome time that night with rounds and rounds of laughing at stupid/silly jokes whilst wolfing down food. Fun times! And oh yes-somebody brought wine & beer as well =) Thank you! Though I sipped a teeny bit only >.<

It is the jovial atmosphere that's what I truly miss. I missed going for lectures and tutorials like how we did in Year 3 minus the the enormous stress during the finals. I know it sounds odd but I do! I missed socializing with my classmates. I can only imagine how it would be like next year when everyone is scattered around, pursuing their own careers. Right now, everything seems uncertain. Don't know where and whom we will be working for in our internship year 2010. Would we be working in the City? Or Country? Adelaide? Or Melbourne/Sydney/Perth? Back to Malaysia? The process of securing a trainee spot is still in the process...very competitive, in fact.

Here's to another Piggy year together! Cheers!

And yes, we are meeting again sometime next week! Can't wait ^.^

Journey to Success

A couple of days ago, I chanced upon an article and I felt a little guilty after reading it. The author wrote 'Success is about enjoying the journey, not about reaching a destination'.

It reminded me about my past and even now. Many times, I am always in the hurry to reach my destination and forget about enjoying the process. In real life, many people do the same thing. There is no doubt that many of us are goal-oriented and this may well mean why people would like to zoom from present to the future.

The author said many of us think that by reaching the end of the rainbow and finding that pot of gold would make us happy. So, we slog through each day of our lives to fulfill our dreams, forgetting to appreciate the events that is happening around us.

I loved the part when the author remarked that we spend 99% of our time pursuing a goal and 1% of the time reaching it. In other words, if we don't enjoy the journey, we miss out 99% of our life.

I definitely don't want my whole life to pass by with a blink of eye. I want to cherish all the events that is occuring around me, be it good or bad. I want no regrets when I reflect on my life later on.

Things that I would do differently the next time (Heck, this sounds like PP400 placement's workbook exercise):

  • To enjoy searching literatures for my thesis writeup
  • To appreciate going to the hospital workplace everyday
  • To ring my family every alternate days
  • To touch base with classmates whom I haven't seen for months

  • To stop and smell the flowers if I see them (it's winter now)

Will think of more!

So, guys, enjoy each step of your journey to succes! Savour every moment of it ^.^

PS: I finished watching TVB's Moonlight Resonance!! I have been wanting to watch this drama ever since last year. Thank you CK and Zoe!

I am now addicted to Raymond Lam's 'Love is not enough-Oi Bat Gao'…Huuhuu.. This song remind me so much of my another sad song that I adore 'Letting Go-Shou Fang Kai' by Li Sheng Jie. Both songs have the same core lyric word- the hand. Don't know what's up with me and the hand lyric song obsession.

And yes, I am a sucker for sad love songs.

Hohoho.. Hanyu Pinyin for 'banana' people like me.

What is wrong with me?

I'm having late night food cravings...AGAIN! Right now, I could do so with...

a stack of pancakes with loads of maple syrup! I made this myself some time back =)

On a serious note, I'm beginning to frighten myself! I have been eating and eating, probably about 5-6 meals per day! It feels like it is getting out of hand >.<

People say its winter that is contributing to this binge eating. But, I don't remember having this weird eating habit during the last winter.

*Sigh*

What is wrong with my internal system? Going haywire?

Joke of the Day #5

Another random joke that I picked up from the basket.

The elderly gentlemen are pushing their carts around K-Mart when they collide. The first old guy says to the second guy, "Sorry about that. I'm looking for my wife, and I guess I wasn't paying attention to where I was going".

The second old guy says,"That's OK. It's a coincidence. I'm looking for my wife, too. I can't find her and I'm getting a little desperate."

The first old guys says," Well, maybe I can help you find her. What does she look like?"

The second old guy says, "Well, she is 27 years old, tall with red hair, blue eyes, long legs and is wearing a denim shorts. What does your wife look like?"

To which the first old guy says, "Dont' remember, let's look for yours."

Wet, Windy, Cold...

The weather has been pretty grumpy these few days... At night, the howling wind would come and frighten me for a few seconds before going away. Boohoo..

A couple of pics that I snapped on my way to the university this morning. Not an easy task to take a picture while carrying an umbrella and two heavy bags!

The second picture that I took is a lovely path with tall trees along both sides of the walkway, giving me the feeling of traversing into a forest =)

First picture-The majestic, gorgeous black tree that I love to gaze upon on my way to the university and hospital (The hospital that I am currently working is just right beside University of South Australia).

Right..but NOT when it is windy, though. You don't even know whether to open up the umbrella or not! >.<

Meanwhile, stay warm guys!
